How the French 3 tests work
The tests lean toward the structures that decide whether a third-year student sounds fluent: “real and imaginary situations with si” asks for both halves of the sentence, and “the pluperfect: before the past” checks whether the pluperfect is built and placed correctly. The subjunctive tests, including “building subjunctive forms step by step” and “rules, orders and wishes with the subjunctive”, make the student decide when the mood is needed before conjugating anything. “retelling what people say and ask” asks for a retelling, which shows whether the grammar survives outside a drill. The scoring guide gives points question by question, so a teacher can see why a paper lost marks. Use the tests chapter by chapter, or combine them into an end-of-term review that covers the whole book.

Frequently asked questions
Who are the French 3 tests for?
It targets third-year students who are ready for the future, the conditional and the subjunctive. Teachers, tutors and independent learners can all use them.
How long is a test and how is it scored?
Each test has 8 questions, totals 20 points and is planned for 45 minutes, with no dictionary. The answer key in Part 2 gives the points for every question, including the test on “giving orders with pronouns attached”.
Can I use the tests as a midterm?
Yes. Pick the chapters your class has covered, from “making plans and promises in the simple future” up to the one you want to include, and add the scores. Every test uses the same 20-point scale, so totals compare fairly.
Is this a subscription?
