Watch out with dormir

Use avoir

In compound tenses dormir takes avoir (j’ai dormi). The participle dormi agrees only with a direct object placed before the verb.

Irregular stems

Learn the stems, not the endings: the present is je dors / nous dormons / ils dorment, and the future and conditional use dormir- (je dormirai, je dormirais).
