Watch out with construire

Use avoir

In compound tenses construire takes avoir (j’ai construit). The participle construit agrees only with a direct object placed before the verb.

Irregular stems

Learn the stems, not the endings: the present is je construis / nous construisons / ils construisent, and the future and conditional use construir- (je construirai, je construirais).
